Born This Way Foundation
Finding the perfect foundation is one of the hardest parts of perfecting our makeup look. This is something I never knew until I decided to change the foundation I had been using for years which was Shiseido’s Perfect Refining Foundation. I watch a lot of tutorials on YouTube and Instagram and had seen many different new formulas that almost everyone was raving about. I was greatly disappointed when four of these very popular brands looked and felt awful on my combination and very fair skin. I’m not going to name these four because I know that those same formulas can look amazing and work beautifully on many skin types but they were just not for me. I have finally found a foundation that I really like and works beautifully on my skin and have been using it since Summer. It is the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and I wear the shade Nude. It’s lightweight for everyday use but very buildable for times when I need heavier coverage for photos.
The best way to find the perfect foundation is by going to a specialized makeup store like Sephora and getting the help of a beauty specialist to use a foundation-matching tool. After looking at the different brands/formulas in your shade and finding a few you like, the next step is to ask for a sample to take home. Sephora has tiny containers that you can fill with product so make use of this service to take the foundation home and test it on your skin for a day. This way you won’t end up with full bottles of foundation you are never going to use again like me ☺
